100% of my kid’s frame of reference for and interest in tariffs comes from buying Lego pieces. Tariffs aren’t an abstract concept to him anymore, and he’s angry. Trump, indeed, take Lego.

I'm guessing that Trump's elimination of the De Minimus Exemption might be one of the main reasons for Lego's decision. Formerly packages worth less than $800 were exempt from tariffs (customs duty) when imported. Now all except a few categories (which have not been made clear) are dutiable.
