It is truly pathetic isn't it to be so triggered by people speaking another language to each other in between speaking to customers. We need to start teaching other languages in this country so everybody can see it is a good thing to speak multiple languages not a bad thing!!!
We do teach other languages Sue. But, like maths, educated people are happy to proclaim they aren’t good at it/them.
It isn't compulsory to learn another language and we start teaching it way too late in secondary school. If we want our children to speak other languages it should start in primary school. That is what other non English speaking countries do.....
