Considering all that happened in the 1980's- Reagan and the pope got shot! Mt St Helens erupted! HIV! The Bhopal and Chernobyl disasters! Canada, Australia, and NZ independence!- it's incredible that a decade couldn't produce a single good piece of music. Just a complete dogshit decade for radio.
