“Anne Frank died of typhus” is a common Holocaust denying statement. Saying “the children aren’t starving because we’re keeping food from them, he’s starving because of an illness” is the same vein as saying “the Nazis didn’t kill Anne Frank, typhus did”.

Ok, I get what you're saying here! And I'm afraid I have to agree that its very easy to take that impression from the OPs messages ... It might be me reading my own "media critique" into their take, but I do, myself, view the images presented in the context they were as somewhat misleading. 1/2
