I've suggested this as a possibility a while back as well and was met with a lot of resistance to the idea. I still think if Dach isn't ready and they don't trade for a 2C, Evans is the ideal candidate to start the season in that position.

I think he may not be the best option offensively but his defensive play makes him a good candidate to play with Demidov and Laine
