Politely I disagree. I will agree that Merchan did the best out of a bad situation but he also allowed the Orange Turd to get away with murder that I know (and you should too) would not have been rendered onto common citizens such as you or I, yes? No one , including Trump , should be Above the Law

Agreed, but given the constraints imposed by SCOTUS, his hands were tied. This “appeal-proofed” the verdict & imposed the thing Trump hates most - reputational damage. Felony status will eat at him like a cancer because he’s never faced ANY consequence for ANYthing before.

Could he not have given him a suspended sentence? Giving him nothing is a mockery of the justice system that doesn't allow something like this to happen to normal citizens is my point amiga.

I don’t agree with the SCOTUS immunity decision AT ALL. No one should be above the law. But they decreed it, so by not imposing any “harm” to DJT, Merchan made it more likely that the felony conviction can’t be overturned. Sounds crazy, but our legal system is crazy sometimes.

I totally agree except that regardless of what sentence Merchan imposed (or didn't impose) the case will be overturned next time it goes b4 the SC. Heck , the vote to even allow him to be sentenced was close at 5-4. One vote the other way & there would have been no sentencing. Sad world we live in.

He could have suspended /postponed sentencing, or ordered confinement, community service. BUT - he had to thread the needle between a SCOTUS that’s inclined to appease DJT, a prez-elect who would make the case vanish, and an appeal that could overturn the verdict. 1/
