Hope you're kidding. This is standard spin. He had a convincing police uniform and an actual cop car. Other police saw him exiting the house and thought he was one of them until he opened fire on them. At a minimum, the police let one of their cars get stolen and used in a multiple assassination.
It could simply have been an ex-cop.

Its not the first time a mass shooter impersonated a cop. I'm Canadian, and the last major shooting in Nova Scotia (2020) was by a guy dressed up as a cop who even had an old cop car pulling over ppl at random and shooting them.
You have to understand, the immediate context of weeks of increasing oppression from police, violent rhetoric from those in power, and the knowledge that cops overwhelmingly support Trump, it is far from impossible this man was considered a cop until the moment he fired on cops.
Info came out on the supposed shooter, and the dude was part of a private security company, so it makes sense now why he had the equipment and gear. But we gotta wait for more info to come out and for him to be caught.
