The other thing I will say here is that it is very true that you may never be able to draw like your favorite artists. I can't. But you can develop your own style and signature based on your strengths and ideas. And in my opinion, that is the point of creativity. Express yourself, not somebody else.
At one point, I wanted to draw chibis. It was more South Park on a good day. I ended up opting to knit more chibi, which worked a little better

SO TRUE! I often bemoan my own choice not to put enough into drawing to ever be happy with my own art, but I'm quite aware that it's because I dumped most of my XP into writing. I've seen those bursts of improvement when I really lean into it and love them! But it just doesn't hold my focus enough.
I hate to see people force themselves to do something that they are not enjoying at some level, even if it's frustrating. There are so many ways to express yourself. Honing in on one that gives you some kind of joy or satisfaction in return is the way to go
Yeah, & that's it. I don't force myself so that I continue enjoying it when I do it! I love when the urge to draw hits me & I'm able to do it. But I can't make it a habit because it becomes a chore. The only things in (fiction) writing that make me feel like that are synopses, blurbs, & marketing.
It's funny because I often don't enjoy writing but I love to edit so that's like the reward I get for drafting 😂
I enjoy editing, too! It's so satisfying fixing the things, but it's also so wonderful reading the story I've been wanting to read, even if I had to write it myself XD
