I was calling a CVS to confirm pharmacy hours since on-line gave conflicting information. I never talked to a real person, couldn't get out of the AI doom loop of bouncing me around or not even providing a "talk to real person" option. It's horrific,

It’s crazy but sometimes I just physically will show up to get an answer. Remember when the telephone was useful and was this great technological breakthrough?

My dermatologist has an AI assistant with loud, distracting “office sounds” in the background. He repeatedly insisted that I allow him to help me when I asked for a representative. Very strange and off-putting. At least I was able to get out of it though.

I think the thing that really started to grate to me was that, no matter how prepped I was for the call, no matter how strong my communication skills were, there was literally NOTHING I could do on my end to ease the experience. I was fully a captive to the robot
