So this is a fair take. Yet there are incoming imbalances that would likely need to be addressed because Star QB at SEC institution > Professor in Education all day every day. More so now given the cash. So figuring out where that imbalance exist and how to deal with it, gonna be important.

I would love for colleges to quit all professionalized sports, keep and expand intramurals, and pay all faculty fair wages
Id actually be ok with college sports being a university branded separate corporate entity where the cash sports still subsidize the non-revenue earning sports but with wages. Let it be a semi-pro farm League for the NFL, MLB, NBA, and WNBA and so on
The only fair solution for the kids who play intercollegiate sports and whose labour has been exploited for over a century
