I lived in NYC also and saw a news copter occasionally. Here in LA they’re just always overhead. Constantly. It’s like traffic noise or kids in a playground. Daily noise.

If you live in central Brooklyn, the NYPD choppers hover daily. Manhattan, you are getting more tourist chopper noise. Especially around Central Park and the Battery. The tourist choppers are a bigger deal in the last 5 years. Instagram made them a bigger business.

I lived in Dyker Heights. I heard the ships horns sometimes. That’s pretty much it.
