My heart is with all those impacted by the mass shooting this morning at Annunciation Catholic Church. This is an ongoing situation and thankfully there is no reported threat to the community at this time.

As students across Minnesota return to school, their only focus should be on learning, not their personal safety. The epidemic of gun violence continues to wreak havoc on our neighborhoods and we have to offer our community more than simple platitudes. We can, and must, do better.

Your communities are always under threat because you have more guns than people. The parents of those kids don't want your heart, they want laws that stop somebody else's kids from being the next victims. Protect people with the same visor as you. protect guns or STFU with your platitudes.
