I used to have a house full of kids of all ages. Every now and then I would get the Mivkey Mouse Songbook which has buttons for a quick tune. I'd yell, "Dance Break!" Everyone drops what they're doing and dance for one minute. It livened everything up again and stopped disagreements & crying
I have done that in the classroom! Distraction works!
My BFF is a MS English teacher. She tells life stories, many about me, to get them listening. I did a lot of wild and stupid things when I was young. She turns them into humorous stories. Apparently, the ones about me are favorites. It's good to know my mania of the past has become a helpful tool🤪
