Bowser’s data said there were 31 carjackings over the same 20 day period last year and this year there were 4. However, over the 20 day period before the occupation, carjackings went from 11 to 4. They were already trending down by almost 50% year to year.

I’m a DC resident who is also angry about all this. I can’t think of what Bowser could do to fight back that would actually make it better though.
I just wish she hadn’t thanked the president in a press conference and said the occupation was good. Look how the news media is now using that to say “ok, maybe this takeover isn’t so bad.” That press conference she did was awful imo.
I agree, and I know he will eventually do whatever it is that the presser statements were meant to stave off. But I do wonder if she said that to buy time. It’s all terrible.
However, it looks like they used the same numbers for both 20 day periods of this year. The 7/18-8/6 and 8/7-8/26 numbers are exactly the same lol
