my hot gaming take is that the greatest FPS franchise of all time is tribes. giant lobbies, absurdly high skill cap while still giving noobs ways to contribute (and feel good about it!), and the most satisfying adrenaline rush of a movement system any shooter has ever experienced. oh, and VGS spam
tribes made other shooters (minus CS; different skillset) turn into easy-mode. if you can track a target flying 200 km/h in the air hundreds of meters away, you can aim and track targets in any other game. if you can land midair spinfusor hits on said target at closer ranges, you are a pharah god
