Oh yeah I did want to look into Ireland, though it may be more on the expensive side. Canada would be great but we’d be looking at being retirees and it’s hard to get residency there when you’re older. Any of those would be great for my kids to “land” in though! 😄
Yup. I've been doing the same thought exercise - esp for my son that clicks a ton of boxes for the new Reich We have a few major barriers We're both disabled. My son is on SSI/Medicaid & a State service w Habit. I'm older What country would take us w those needs wo years of waiting for $/services
Being disabled & old is a massive barrier, sadly. I've looked, as well & that seems to be the case for anywhere I'd want to go. 🥲

Yeah I worry about that with my kids… Both have disabilities but they hopefully won’t be disabling to the point they can’t work in a few years 🤞 My youngest just seems to keep adding symptoms though so who knows 😕
Not sure @ your state/ I put my son on the only program in our state for children & young adults w "developmental" disabilities (non Long Term Care facilities- keeps them in their home) Many years ago, it took 10 relentless years to get him on it. Call your MHMRA & ask @ any programs if you'll stay
We work somewhat closely with one of our state depts in my job, so one of my kids is already connected with them to get help w college funding and maybe a job later. Though I’m hoping she’ll be able to leave. My other has a mystery illness so until we get a label there’s no applying for anything 🫠
