The only problem with that is that the GOP will pivot, blame a different group of people, and their base will follow suit and believe it. Anything to avoid being blamed or trying to course correct their own actions/beliefs.

It's because the majority of their voters are vile bigots who only care about hurting people who are different from them. As long as they get to make their neighbors suffer, they don't give a shit that their "leaders" routinely steal from them.
