Anyone that needs lessons in being authentic never will be. It's like people that ask what music or art "means". The answer for the Democratic Party is to get rid of the lawyers and everyone else from the professional management class, and replace them with people like AOC and Mamdani.

Speak from your heart. Speak the truth as you believe it. People will believe you. Part of the problem is many old school Democrats can't do this, because their heart is set in retaining personal wealth and power, they look down on us as inferior, and they don't wait it to change.

To be fair, yes, Republicans are FAR worse, but they appeal to a different set of people, and they're finally saying the quiet part or loud and see how well it works?
