The Comets ☄️ social media team are “doing a great job sweetie.” I was part of a project a few years ago with the OKC Dodgers to audit and develop a comprehensive social media strategy for the organization. Was a really fun and interesting experience.

Oh yeah??? That’s actually really cool! I love that they’re open to engaging fans in that process. They do a great job with the resources that they have, limited as they are. I love their content. They know the fan base well.

I was a business development and client services manager for a digital marketing company. I sold them on the project partially because I’m a huge baseball fan. Especially the Dodgers. 💙

That’s exactly WHY they know the fan base so well though, because you were able to leverage your expertise and passion to help them improve and grow. Project doesn’t exist without passion, which is exactly what the parent club lacks. Their approach is cold and corporate. OKC’s strategy has heart.

I will say the previous ownership group in OKC had way more restrictions for their digital presence. The new owners seem to be willing to be more responsive and organic. And it shows!

THAT does not surprise me at all.
