Democrats took the "no medicaid for gender affirming care" out of the stupid budget bill, voted against a nationwide sports ban and many democrat run states have passed legislation to protect us in various ways. Some talk about wanting to abandon us but many don't, and they haven't yet.

you deserve better than "we will do nothing for you but some of us, some of the time, will vote against your death"

I'd like to see that too but people constantly overstating how much the people I'm relying on to protect me actually want to kill me is pretty stressful. Like, I can't flee the country. If you're right and they *all* want to see me dead then I guess I'm just dead and I don't want to give up.

Absolutely correct. But if we rewind the tape back to 2024, the choice the gentrocracy gave wasn't between "person who will fight enthusiastically for trans rights" and that. It, unfortunately, was instead an election between that versus an administration actively trying to kill trans people.

For the record, I think Natalie's anger here is misdirected. The liberals lost this election in a multitude of ways and I think while she is right that leftist anger over Gaza measurably helped the dems lose, that is entirely on Harris for siding with the genocide. Among other stupid decisions.

It's just that if you are a trans person, things are meaningfully much worse for you now. Not that they were great! Let's have no illusions about it. But toleration is better than termination, and I get why Natalie feels that way even if she is wrong about most of everything else.

Telling them it's okay to throw people under the bus is a great way to keep yourself on the bus 👍
