This sounds great. Also the ISOLT - our reading group in Paris did that during the pandemic too. I’ll keep an eye on your group feed too!

If you like long projects, a dozen of us are reading all of Shakespeare's plays with Much Ado About Nothing starting on Feb. 1st. #MuchAdo_2025 We're on the penultimate day of #RichardII_2025 now! I'm working on updating my substack this weekend: alltheletters.substack.com/p/all-the-ba...

What did you read as a group before I joined for Henry IV?

I've led slow-reads of all of Woolf's novels, short fiction & a play; Rosamund Lehmann's Dusty Answer; Sylvia Townsend Warner's The Corner That Held Them; The Iliad; Lispector's Near to the Wild Heart. Many of us read Proust, Mann, Knausg., Yourcenar, Beard w/ @literaturesc.bsky.social since 2020.

Oh gosh, sorry. I meant which of the Shakespeare plays. But most of those sound like great group slow-reads.

We started with Henry IV part 1 - so, you've been with us from the beginning 🙂 I'm working on a post on my substack about this first Henriad that we've read together. A memento of these 3.5 months (we started on Oct. 1, 2024)!

Absolutely. Also, why can't the NYT says "The government" rather than Big Idiot's surname? Seeing those 5 letters makes my blood boil instantly.

Good point! I made the mistake of reading about his trip to LA and all the incredibly stupid things he said there. My favorite is the secret valve for water from Canada and PNW for California he will unveil for us! 😜
