Can't help but feel it's interesting this became an issue after phone manufacturers stopped putting headphones jacks on their phones

It was the next logical step. Phone manufacturers thought it would be a nice little built-in revenue spinner, but forgot that people as a whole will take the easiest and cheapest option and thus society suffers.
