The comments here have a wide selection of tools that may work superuser.com/questions/51... As mentioned, not an expert, but if the new file is much smaller than the file it replaced, at least some of the data should still exist, but I don't know how recoverable it will be.

There's apparently a function in windows that would completely solve this situation (called "file history") but it's turned OFF by default; so chances are very low that it'll be any use. :-(

Figures :-( Fingers crossed one of those programs will work for you. Unfortunately overwritten temp file is a lot harder to recover than a deleted file.
