I agree with what you are saying, but one out of every 100 Americans is transgender????? I don’t think so. 🤔

You've likely met trans people without realizing they're trans 🤷♀️
Probably
It’s very difficult to estimate given obvious barriers, but worldwide estimates range between 0.6% and 2%. So 1 in 100 is a pretty conservative estimate.
Worldwide that is more believable, but it feels high based on my experience. I do live in the very conservative Midwest, and it is definitely not 1% here. Thanks for the info.
All that means is that people are hiding, in fear of their lives. Doesn’t we they don’t exist.
That’s sad. I’m in my sixties and the world has never seemed this dumb before.
My family was in a restaurant the other day. Two of my kids are trans. There was a trans woman (t-pride tattoo) at the table next to us. The restaurant held about 200 people. As we left some queer looking young adults came in. Odds are some of them fall under the umbrella. Those stats match that.
A lot of us live in safe states. Personally live in WA where a LOT of trans folks live. Not to mention not all of us are out and proud, some live closeted and go stealth. You're also far less likely to see us in trans hostile states if we can help it.
That's 1% and is spot on with the published data. usafacts.org/articles/wha...
the world exists beyond what you perceive of it
Apparently. My bad. I have no issue and think kindness towards all should be the plan, but I had no idea the numbers were that high. I stand corrected.
I belong to a group of parents with trans kids. When the littles show up to play I have no idea which are the trans kids and which are the cis siblings. And nobody else at the park knows either.
thats okay. sometimes we're made to only focus on the things immediately around us, and we can't see the bigger picture. but we learn
