I did try out Pop a few years ago because my laptop has a Nvidia GPU. I heard that there was a big issue with memory leaks on cosmic though, has that been fixed?

I haven’t noticed it, so … maybe? Cosmic 24.04 has only been out for public consumption less than a year. If you are actually talking years ago, that would have been a Gnome DE issue.

It was definitely Cosmic, I had watched a video covering it a few months back covering the use of rust is the DE

The current Rust-based Cosmic 24.04 DE has only been out for people to install for less than a year so maybe your ram/memory issues from a few years ago was on the modified Gnome DE that Pop!_OS was offering for 22.04. BUT, maybe it’s not for you? Have you tried Manjaro?
