Last year, over in the valley, a teacher had handled a bat-trying to get it out of her room-got bit and died. From the reports, she didn't realize bats were carriers, and thus didn't get PEP.
Holy shit that is scary
Yup. It's been largely eradicated in domestic pets here, so it's not on most folks radar. What alarmed me with this was the rise in fox-related cases. Logical carriers as mammals, just not a species I associate with cases.
