people used to enjoy ragging on Jonathan Franzen, but his level of disengagement from social media & current events generally is much to be desired in fiction writers.

Like even David foster Wallace’s brain had a fuckton of problems Honestly most writers we admire had cooked brains, sadly They’re just more online now
It’s why I can’t get on with David foster Wallace’s passionate railing against David letterman because he stalked a fellow writer And slept around with students He is no better tjhan letterman on the latter and I wish he had been honest
The rawest and most honest thing about David Foster Wallace ever written was by...Jonathan Franzen. And it's one of the better things HE'S written. A tough read!
Oh I read a bit in the New Yorker I’m glad he was willing to call him out.
I’m not trying to be cold blooded because I am not happy wallace is dead : depression is a hell of a thing to suffer through I just wish he had gotten help and had humility about his past actionsb
Well the other most honest thing about DFW ever written was "Good Old Neon" and he wrote it himself and it's "fiction" and it's absolutely painful to read now and also still incredible.
I’ll check it out one day I’ve listened to joy division and Ian Curtis admit his own deep flaws
I mean it's definitely a "cw: suicide" situation, that story. But so is Joy Division I guess, heh.
really thankful douglas adams never had the chance to be online.
