Halfway through the first quarter- still 0-0. Defence winning.
Halfway through the first quarter- still 0-0. Defence winning.
History note: this is the 60th Labour Day Classic in Regina. Demski now has catches in 82 consecutive games. End of quarter. 0-0, but Winnipeg threatening.
Oliveira runs over the faces of the hapless Rider defence - good triumphs again. 7-0 Winnipeg. Collaros surpassed Dieter Brock in total passing yards. Brock was a story. Oops, Winnipeg stripped the ball on a sack. Knocking on the door again…
10-0 Bombers. Roughriders held out inside the 10.
Dieter Brock was a story. Amazing strong arm, led the Bombers for years, although Winnipeg had a Grey Cup drought. Then his wife badmouthed Winnipeg and the fans got PO’d. Traded away to Hamilton, and lost to the Bombers when they finally broke the Grey Cup drought.
Brock then went to the LA Rams (in LA at the time). Got crushed by the Bears 46 defence in the playoffs as the Bears went on to their Super Bowl Shuffle. A somewhat immobile old school pocket passer was not a great matchup against the Bears defence.
Whoops, the evil Roughriders get the sack/fumble near the goal line this time.
Ouellette romps into the end zone. Oh noes, the momentum.
Sigh, the momentum. 14-10 Riders, two and half minutes left in the half.
Sigh. Castillo miss at “only” 50 yards. Expectations are high when you get a couple 60-yarders in a season.
