Just met a husky on Tufts campus. We were cute. I touched its nose and said BOOP. It sniffed and tilted slightly, confused. So I said BOOOOZH, in a lower tone. Then they got it and wagged tail and stuff. We scritched. I'm flexible. You never know what dialect you'll run into.
