I was quoted $700 and $1000 for a healthy 13lb dog to have a basic dental under sedation. These are independent vets. i remember when it was $150 for my 70lb German Shepherd. Are y’all really doing this? What are you paying?

Our shelty has to have her teeth cleaned every so often because that breed has issue. Not sure why but if I don’t have them cleaned, the extraction bill is worse. There is a water additive that is supposed to help with tarter build up but I can’t speak for it. Might ask your vet.

We don't brush our dogs' teeth. $700 to $1K sounds nuts! Maybe private equity is taking over animal care services like it has human medicine and is driving up prices?

We don't brush Fenris' teeth. Vet says they're fine. I think having a variety of chew toys, and also a desire to destroy every toy that's put in front of him, helps. Those prices seem bonkers.
