“The President is committing Actual Big Boy Crimes and if he sets foot in [my state] I will arrest him” seems like it would move the first governor to say it to the top of the polls pretty quick.
"the president is a pedophile" outranks almost every piece of news but you know what it doesn't outrank? "the president is becoming an actual dictator"
I also don't know why we have a 24-hour news cycle and have to choose a single thing to focus on. We fully have the bandwidth to say "The president is a pedophile and is becoming an actual dictator"
The dirty secret is the donor class doesn’t mind the authoritarianism part of Trumpism and they want that to stick around post-Trump.
They assume it will never be pointed at them. It’s all an abstraction to them. It’s still an abstraction to most Americans at this point.
