I do like how the manage to fit "She got two B's and a D" fit into the final paragraph. Fantastic way of saying something without saying something.

They're not even terrible results. It's the fact that having got them she still maintains she's a straight A student as if that is better measured for her uniquely some other way than looking at exam results.
