I think you can pick the favourite, but I think if an alliance isn't formed the Greens keep all their seats and gain, but YP don't.

this is probably the way round that makes the alliance more likely, though - YP contains a lot of stubborn and bloody minded people while the Greens are so nicey nice that Zak Polanski is considered by them to be a raging populist on the fringes of acceptability

I think if YP run against the Greens, assuming they don't just collapse, Greens will lose seats and not gain any

Hmm, you think that enough left votes leave the Greens for Labour/Tories/Liberal Dems to come FPTP?

FPTP is a challenge for them anyway; but they didn't actually beat Labour by that many in Bristol/Brighton and if Your party takes, say, 30% of their vote (polling suggests it'd be more like 50%) they'd lose
