My sister was born when we lived in an area that didn't have fluoride in the water. I was 3 when we moved there. We lived there till she was 4. I've had very few dental issues in 50+ years. She had a dozen cavities by the time she was 5 and has been plagued by poor dental health her whole life.

I grew up on well water, that obviously wasn't fluoridated. My peers on "city water" mocked my cavities. I brushed. I went to the dentist every six months. I still had issues with cavities. I'm going to be honest here.
My latest dental experience makes me wonder if there isn't a monetary push here. My most current dentist struck me as money hungry from the get go. Immediately, they "recommended" SIX crowns. Immediately. We're talking over $6K out of pocket. Immediately.
I had to get one of them done, regardless, due to a broken tooth, but the rest I deferred on. And kept deferring on. Then the office "suggested" that I get check-ups every four months (vs the usual 6). They kept pushing the crowns.
Last visit, still pushing the crowns, I just said, "I'm not making another appointment." I don't know if it's how dentistry is these days, but I wouldn't be surprised if this RFK anti-fluoridation is a ploy for $$$ for dentists.
