The moves the Cubs made are solid in a vacuum. Not upset about those. But not getting a legit starting pitcher…that really hurts. Even getting Taillon/Assad back, those are mid-lower rotation guys. Really wanted a 1-2 type. I wanted to be positive, but it’s disappointing
Take away legit. They didn’t get a Starting Pitcher. In his last 5 starts Soroka has only pitched past the 5th inning once

Really sad that Jed would rather sit on his prospects like a squirrel hiding an acorn than go for it this year. I understand it takes two sides to make a deal but other teams were active. Jed is content just being competitive.
Jed and Tom* There is a reason he was extended mid-year. Gives him cover to not make the real moves needed to win a World Series which Tom could give two shits about. He just wants revenue

Most of the supposedly available SPs didn’t get moved. Either the asking price was too high or the market is valuing controllable prospects more.
The asking price for the top guys were absurd
