I didn't realize it would be taken as "aggro" to sarcastically call you "genius". That was a pretty minor playground insult when I was growing up, and wasn't meant to be a serious attack. I apologize for any hurt it caused. The point stands though, "just don't make Pad Thai" isn't a good solution.
Pad thai is just a stir fry with noodles. If you don't want to spend time chopping veggies, you can buy stir fry mix at the supermarket and still save time and money over ordering out - not as much as if you started with whole veggies, but it still works out.

No. I didn't call you stupid, and I didn't think it would be taken as aggressive. I consciously chose the mildest "insult" I could think of to be clear it wasn't meant to be hurtful. The intent was for the childishness to blunt it and make it funny, but clearly I misjudged. Hence the apology.
