Another rallying point could have also been against price gouging, like the boycott over in the Balkans rn.

I don't buy the garbage. I resell what's worth money and still in good condition but so much of it is Chinese knock offs that it's completely overwhelming. I also have posted about this many times on my Instagram where I show people where all the amazon stuff goes.

entry-level positions start at $26-28 an hr. with quarterly performance raises and annual merit raises. 20% of the employees have been with the company for 15 + years. I've been with the company for 22 years. 2 of my children work there too.

If you live in a deeply red state most small businesses are MAGA. So the small business side is not really a good blanket ok the support.

Look for local cooperatives (aka coops) — like grocery coops — and local farms / farmers markets / CSAs for as much of your food as possible. If the farmer is a MAGA person, this may be an opportunity to show support & let them know what affect their votes have has on all of us.

Sure. But those were usually non-violent social movements incorporating a range of actions, and they were about comparatively small-scale issues. They also, presumably, had specific goals/calls on those in power. I don't see that this economic boycott compares usefully.

In theory I get it. Unfortunately for lots of people, working long hours and especially with kids - weekends are the only time to get groceries etc.

In theory, Chris? ;) (with "food deserts" an exception) I can think of nothing more practical than taking the kids to your local Farmer's Market, small grocer, even growing food with them. In some places (Coastal OR in my experience) even have local Co-ops that grow and deliver, sure you'd agree.

And instead let's head to libraries, college museums, and national parks. I'd rather give my money to them considering they're getting hit by budget cuts.

I support the effort but this is the first time I'm hearing about this. Maybe give people more than 24 hours notice

It's not just a meme. Have you ever heard of a general strike? My grandfather and uncles participated in them in world war II. France uses them all the time. As do other countries.

How did that work out for them?

For the UAW the most recent one, very well. I don't know if you're just trolling or a crank or if you actually are sincere. I'll give you the benefit of the dount for the moment.

I am just saying, we have learned from the past and we have opportunities we have never had in history. We could make changes, we do not need to repeat.

Of course I agree with you there. But general strikes especially when the country is large as ours with over 300 million people would be very effective. I think that the evildoers have really underestimated this.

Why not work to secure democracy? Why don't we ever see them memes? These strikes are more worthless now than in history. And you're only hurting yourself. over and over and over again throughout time.

What leverage do we have as a people to secure democracy right now?

That's very interesting. I really hope we had the opportunity to move forward on that in 2026. Look up the UAW strike the most recent one. It was very well thought out and organized with the UAW winning, really good concessions for the workers. Strikes do work.

We have full access to the mass communication source for the first time in history. We supply the new commodity, data (look what they did for oil) Maga hates Elon as much as we do.

What is the mass communication source? And how would we use it to get leverage? You don't have to just use one way to fight back. Strikes are useful. Very useful. But you do have to prepare.
