one of the greatest american songs
one of the greatest american songs
Did anybody ever wonder why their County didn't have a football team?
I remember when my mom bought us this album for Christmas. Damn, I’m old.
Great song! 🎶🎸
Best morning song!
🖤🖤🖤 And 🖤🖤🖤 that classic stalker song!
Order me a burger, I'm on my way 😉 💙
Love that song
Love that song

My country is crumbling, every value I hold is attacked by The Regime, but somewhere #PattonOswalt is in a diner & Glen Campbell is still singing #JimmyWebb. I can hold on another day.
👍😊
Same
Whatcha doin?
Perfect moments.
Great song. Ahhh Glen Campbell.
It was perfect until that guy walked through. Then I decided that it was just too crowded for my taste.
"...and I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time..." ❤️
I love this song
Sublime
A bit too expensive there. Alcove down the street, for me.
Great song
"This is the note!"
Glen Campbell -- 68 or 69?
One of my favorite Jimmy Webb songs
Glen was the GOAT.
Always makes me think of Homer singing it
might be the top o the pops, young patton all time yearner
👎
Still a great song.
Oh how I miss Glen Campbell.
If you like Wichita Lineman - listen to A Girl Named Tom version. 🦋
Have always loved that song, but when I hear it now I think of Jacob and Darlene.. IYKYK.
The U.S.,so great and yet so…
Hmm, in New Orleans dive bars Wichita Lineman is usually playing around 4:30 am.
nothing else hits like Ghost Riders in the Sky at Betz Brown's Abbey at 4:00 a.m.
Arguably the best part of that ridiculous song. Truth is stranger that fiction, it seems, while dining at the end of our times.
As a former restaurant owner I am wondering why this restaurant is empty at 8:29 am on a Sunday? Love me some Glen Campbell btw. My mom had this album & I played the hell out of it.
I was wondering that too. Every restaurant around here that serves breakfast is mobbed on a Sunday morning. And pretty much every morning. We eat a lot of breakfast here.
It is odd, or worrisome.
Christ, this reminds me of all the truck stop diners my parents would stop at when I was a kid in the 70’s. Brings a tear to my eye.
Brings back memories of Armed Forces Radio Network. I was in Wakkanai Hokkaido.
the magical life of an A-lister
Excellent song
One my mother's favorites! 🥰
I always hear Homer singing it.
Great song.
For all time ... one of the best. And if you don't look up, you won't see him.
searchin’ in the sun for another overload
He was an amazing talent, and his true range and potential was held back by the execs.
Love that song. Looks like a great place!
Everything is better with Witchita Lineman...
He could've sung the phone book and made it sound good.
Sweet
This song has brought a lump to my throat ever since I was a kid when it first came out on the radio. Still does, wiping tears away as I write this. Looked up when it came out (1968) and in the search results was one that noted Dylan thought it the best song ever written. He might be right.
You and me both! This song touched my soul way down deep as a little kid. Heading over to YouTube for a walk down memory lane. Where are my tissues?💙🥹
Are you saying that the people are missing out on a recorded performance of the song, or that the song has ensured that few will be in the restaurant?
If Toto’s “Africa” was the next song that played would that have blown your mind? Sans the Lean Cuisine 😂
I miss Sunday mornings in LA
me too
Jimmy Webb, great songs, not so great guy.
Well, shit... I had to dig in. Had no idea that he was part of "The Lost Weekend" with Nilsson and Lennon.
My folks had this 8-track - big feels 🥹
Classic music and lyrics
Why is the restaurant empty?
Thanks for covering that opening shift, friend.
It made me want to run down there but I realized the song would be over by that time
I love that song Patton
This is a last scene of a heist movie where the hero makes off with the money but dies in the restaurant because he never tended to the bullet in his belly.
Great song though
early morning with one of the best songs of all time.
Every time I hear this song I’m sitting at the breakfast table on a dark winter morning. I look out the window and see the snowflakes swirling around the streetlight
Thats awesome!
Fuckin love this song!
Beautiful song
👍🤎
Right On.
Sitting in a nice hotel in Iceland having lunch, they were playing JJ Cale "After midnight." Totally blew my mind.
Try sitting in a pub outside your hotel in Galway, Ireland, and hearing Raphael Saadiq This World Is Drunk playing thru the speaker over your head. THAT one got me.
I went to Ireland in 1995 and seemingly the whole country was going through a Garth Brooks phase because that shit was blasting everywhere.
A VERY fond memory is getting into a taxi on arriving in Rome and, as the driver brought us through the city, he joined in singing in a low voice with Harry on the radio… “Just stop your crying It's a sign of the times We gotta get away from here Just stop your crying It'll be alright”
Incredible track! Confession: I owned that Glen Campbell album Back in the Day. *sigh* lovely memory; thanks for sharing this, Remy (you will always be Remy to me 💕)!
Back then we ALL owned a copy.
There’s some sort of Glen Campbell universal synergy thing going on (minizeitgeist?). This is like the 3rd or 4th Glen Campbell post and they’re all unrelated on the surface.
They’d better give out a discount to county-level workers.
Why is there no one in there??
Careful in that kitchen.
If this brief cut inspires anyone to look for a deeper insight into Jimmy Webb and Wichita Linemen check the Rick Beato interview with Webb on YouTube. Its excellent.
LA! LA! LA! LA! LA! LA! LA! LA! LAAAAAA!
If you can ever find the version by Optiganally Yours from 1996, you will be richly rewarded.
Can you grab me a black coffee? I’m almost there.
That's how you know you're in a truly special place.
8/29 is my birthday. It’s like we’re living the same life.
(Pancake) chef's kiss: "And I need you more than want you, And I want you for all time."
Funny I’ve started to notice less foot traffic at all stores
One of Glen’s and Jimmy’s best!
Thanks, that was nice to hear. This was one of my Dads favorites. My brother and I sing it together when we can. ❤️
I think of Ozark series on Netflix. And of course Glenn Campbell ex Beach Boys!
Well that's not getting out of my head anytime soon
I'm about to get up and see if I can map out the chords on the piano - love the song, but never thought about working out the music myself.
I love Glenn Campbell and his music. I'd have breakfast there.
🙂↕️
That seems pretty perfect!
We know that you won't go to Denny's 🤣
My daughter has been working with one of the owners down here in South OC at the Ecology Center. Now she's moving back up to Los Feliz and will be able to enjoy All Time again. It's such a beautifully done space.
ISTR the kouign amman rocks.
Great opening scene to your screen play Patton. 😂🤣
I could eat there.☮️
Sometimes you just brush up against the ineffable, nod acknowledgements and move on.
Gotta love some Glen Campbell
Great song. 😌
That's a vibe. Always felt that song had a real haunting feel to it.
One of the greatest songs ever written.
I'm from his hometown, Albuquerque, NM. He had many great songs! This takes me back to 4 years old! 😎👍
One of the best songs ever - I would stop and listen wherever it is playing, too.
I got goosebumps just listening to that short clip. ❤️
Reminds me of when my parents were still young. Beautiful song
Nice place to breakfast, Patton. Enjoy your Sunday morning!
I'd love that song even at 5:29 a.m. 💙
Standing reservations only
Love that song.
The camera is not shaking from your sobs?
Wasn't this a KLF song?
No.
Love that song.
Absolute classic!
Impeccable Sunday tune
One of my favorite spots. Oh man.
It's always sunny at Denny's.
❤️
I’m in line man, for the coffee…
