To be fair though, 2000AD has always been way better than anything marvel and DC put out, and it's way cheaper, so it's swings and roundabouts.

Strangely, we get pretty good discounts here on 2000AD publications too though. Can find a lot of collected editions for 30-70% off. I just bought the Halo Jones collected edition for something like 70% off a few months back

Listen, I’m the last person to defend Marvel/DC as being the best comics ever made (well, let’s exclude Vertigo here…) but people like what they like. I don’t think quality will ever be the sole determinant of what people are interested in
