Far from it - French wife about to get almost bankrupted by the French system having to pay for care for her frail mother.

OK OK. Only believe words and views from within the British islands. Don’t ever look outside your Times/BBC bubble.

I had enough with the Brexit establishment and the millionaire Elites like Farage and the rest of the Putinites. I would like to go back to the 2010 NHS, before the Tories and the Brexit elite destroyed our health service.

I can see why some would prefer to see an insurance based system for funding healthcare. In a tax based system, the wealthy pay more. In an insurance based system, those at most risk pay more. Wealthy people are typically more healthy people.

Its illegal in Europe ( but standard in US) that a risk increases the insurance costs. Previous health issues are not allowed to influence acceptance or pricing.

Even if previous health issues, or predicted health issues, or postcode, or... are not allowed to impact insurance prices, if there's an excess, those with health issues will pay more. If everyone pays the same insurance rate, with no co-pay/excess charges, then it's still the wealthy that benefit.

I admit that €120 per month is a seizable burden if your income is 2000 a month than for someone coming home with 20.000 a month. But everyone in European countries can afford to pay it. Social contributions for health are - like tax- % increasing w revenue

If insurance prices increase with salary, then why not simplify everything, cut out the middle man (the insurance company, whether it's profit based, or non-profit) & fund the health system through general taxation?

There's been a change in the type of beds available, with fewer overnight beds & more for day cases. Between 1987/88 & 2023/24 overnight beds decreased by 56% whilst day-only beds increased by 531% as medical innovations led to an increase in same-day procedures www.kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and-...

Plastered all over ITV and local news. Plastered all over Good Morning Britain. yet, they don't put the blame on anything.... why? Who is to blame? Who was in power for 14 years? Who under funded the NHS then gave out millions of PPE contracts and included THAT money within the NHS budget line?
