But seriously: does anyone have a vision on what a sustainable society looks like, if fossil is used up, there are 10 billion people on this planet, and if we have to manage on 2500 m² of land per person? Will we spend 5% on Defence, or will we need it for more important things, like food?
And if we cannot afford a 5% of BBP budget for defence, why support that?
For now, we have to continue to pump up fossil fuels to keep our unsustainable economy running. If we do not have fossil, our society will collapse. Eventually we wìll run out of fossil fuels. We should have transformed to a truly sustainable society before that time. Time is running out.
And if we will have produced many solar panels, wind turbines and nuclear powerplants by the time we run out of fossil, we may have electricity still, but we will not be able to sustain that infrastructure plant-based for more than a few decades.
Meanwhile large parts of the planet will be starving. There will be hunger, migrations, war and genocide. It will be Hell on Earth. If we do not figure our how to become a truly sustainable society. Soon. And nobody is figuring this out. So: drill, baby, drill!
Wel treurig eigenlijk dat Trump misschien een betere visie lijkt te hebben als "Links". Alleen weet Trump waarschijnlijk zelf ook niet waarom.
