I’m guessing poor diet (eating too late, being overweight and having heartburn) lack of exercise, stress, lack of focus on eastern practices like meditation and yoga, and being on their phones too much.

I see a huge difference on when/how I sleep based on these factors. If i eat dinner too late - can’t sleep. If I’m working out regularly - sleep like the dead. If I’m “revenge scrolling” - can’t sleep. Everyone is difference obviously, but we’re all biological humans.
Absolutely. I probably should’ve landed on those notes, though they are familiar to many. To tell the truth, I was more interested in the social stigma surrounding sleeplessness and its various pharmacological solutions, and I was interested in laying out CBT I as an alternative.
Cool thread. Mine is I fear falling asleep sometimes, and other times I could fall asleep but I feel like I need to figure out a big problem in my life and I don't allow my self to. I have had anxiety that prevented sleep when I wanted it, but not in over a year.
I’m so sorry. But I’m glad it’s been a year since that’s happened to you. My mind used to race before bed too. I was told to keep a journal next to my bed so I could “brain dump” things on paper. It helped sometimes. But even now I HAVE to listen to relaxing talking or else my mind goes.
“Get Sleepy” stories by Thomas on YouTube are are super relaxing and help me fall asleep. But I listen to a lot of stuff. I know where you’re coming from, and I hope it keeps getting better for you. 🫶🏼
Thanks!
I'm looking forward to reading this! So far all I've been able to do is ctrl-f, and notice there's no mention of ASMR. Did anyone bring that up in your reporting?
I don’t know how I missed the first half of this thread. All I saw was the article! I’m sorry I missed so much of it at first, I just saw it.
I hesitated to even write my comment because I knew they were generic reasons, but they are so core to my sleep issues that I did. I think CBT for insomnia would help a lot of people. Great idea, I hope it catches on. Well, it’s 9pm est so I wish you a peaceful wind down and ᧁꪮꪮᦔ ꪀ𝓲ᧁꫝ𝓽 🌝
