The currently dominant faction the GP are the 'Tories w/compost heaps' - the same 20% of Green voters who would NOT vote for a Green/JCZS alliance. They're keen to avoid scaring the horses by admitting that Green action requires left politics. Hence why they don't want Zak to win the leadership.

So on policy you're quite correct, but on optics, the Greens have been v careful not to 'look left' to the NIMBY middle class in Tunbridge Wells.
