My home insurance renewal was going to be a 40% increase this year so I decided to shop around for a better quote and alternatives ranged from 50% more to 375% more (not a typo) despite no claims for over 5 years.

Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but I think it’s worth documenting these instances of how we’re all being chipped away at financially with lots of big increases in small costs of living, while at the same time there’s a massive assault against human rights and democracy underway.
