I think you might be confusing ‘convenient’ with good. Fast food and ready meals are popular because they’re convenient, not because they’re good for us. Uber and Netflix models became popular because they’re more convenient, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve been a net positive to society.

Convenient things can be good, better even than alternatives (fast food can be healthy, and any food is generally better than starving), but it doesn’t necessarily follow that just because something is widely adopted because it’s convenient, that it must therefore be better.
