The democrats are their own worst enemy right now the 72 % that are teach a man to fish moderates do not have anything in common with the 23% far left I am entitled to everything liberals. It has created a rift in our party that leaves it wide open for Republicans.

You can tell when someone understands politics real good when they don’t know what a liberal is.

fun fact! america's power grid is probably the single most vulnerable in the first world! so they're doing a shit job at that too.

Was speaking figuratively older moderates pay the bills that get candidates elected.

those bills don't go to getting candidates elected. in tarrant county, a competitive, purple district they laid off all their staffers during mayoral races. they're completely complacent and unwilling to fight winnable battles. we're under attack everywhere, and they retreat to safe districts

talk to people who do back end work with the democrats. it's miserable. they treat everyone with the same sanctimonious derision you treat progressives with. kills everyone's morale. they make it insanely difficult to organize.

this is a deeply rotten political party divorced from the actual dynamics of power. we need an opposition to behave like opposition when blatant textbook fascism is taking everything over americans hold dear. or we are fucked for the long long term.

your ideological compatriots will be remembered with the same derision as paul von hindenburg and neville chamberlain, if we are so lucky to live to write about it.

“Teach a man to fish” — love it. Here’s the moderate liberal way we execute that. Let’s have a tax credit on every fish a man catches. It’ll be .7 cents per raw pound of fish up to 1,000 pounds. But we’ll have to make it .3 cents per pound if the man makes $40,000 or more per year

Some fishermen have been telling us that they need additional help securing health care, combating fascist incursions into their communities, and making sure their children have access to quality, affordable care. We moderates think the .7 cents per raw pound of fish credit should take care of these

And best of all, if Trump doesn’t support our fish credit, we can run on stuff like “Donald Trump: ANTI-fish credit” and “Fish Grinch Donald wants to Take Your .7 Cents”. The pollsters at our moderate democratic consultancy firm tell us this is the most salient way to fight MAGA
