I honestly can't believe that a senior MLB reporter wrote this with a straight face. You clearly understand why the schedule is the way it is!

Aren’t there already more day games at the start of the season? I would’ve gone to a lot more Wednesday night Mets games in April and May if they hadn’t been at 1pm
Totally are in Minnesota
Favorite story from friend dob 1946 in rural Eastern NC. At age 17 he and friends schemed to go to NYC for baseball weekend. Drove to Fayetteville NC for night train Friday-Sat AM dropped bags at hotel and straight to stadium. Batting practice, fungo, everything. Post game to hotel...
then wandering as no money for entertainment. Sunday same for double header then to station for train then drive home. KICKER: Four boys ate 32 hotdogs that weekend.
Pre expansion, until the late 50's at least, Monday was a near universal off day. Teams traveled by train and played many more day games and Sunday double headers thus late getaway and Monday arrival meant no day game possible. Played teams for a week straight, then moved on.
With a couple rare exceptions, there’s virtually already only 2 days you’re likely to not have a game, Monday and Thursday. I’m a bit confused how changing this to only Monday makes the baseball schedule better, as it would push more day games to Thursday instead of Wednesday for travel
this write can learn a lot from the idea that not everyone can have everything all the time FFS
the both-sidesing of America suuuuuuuuucks
God, this is straight out of 1996
MLB thought putting a diamond in the middle of a NASCAR track was also a good idea.
I just don't understand how you can write this article and not be able to understand that MLB players are there before a game to prepare to win it, and the Bananas players are there to be entertainers. You don't get pre-game interactions with them because they need to focus on wining!
I went to a Bananas game last year. Parts of it were fun, but the overwhelming vibe was "we need to keep distracting the fans, otherwise they'll realize baseball is boring".
Except the Rockies, right?
I mean, the mascot gets to run around and deal with fans. The Bananas are just an entire team of mascots
Opening stadiums early is good though and more teams should do it
I’ve wanted some sort of Rockies experience at Target Field, someone has to explain to me why they can’t. Also, I seem to remember seeing more batting practice as a kid in the ‘60s & ‘70s, sincerely wondering when that all changed & why. Assume players do more controlled work out of sight now.
Idk, as someone who lives in Denver be careful asking for a "Rockies experience"
Shoulda been more precise: pre-game & attendance. Just sounds more fun there than here, but obviously not the actual on-field action.
You could open the gates for batting practice earlier tho
Like it’s fine to be the Harlem Globetrotters. But it’s a fundamentally different product than what the NBA is selling.
Besides there are and always have been ample opportunities for determined fans to holler enthusiastically at players on the field before the game! Organically!
BRB, gonna go write an article about how the nba should be more like the Harlem globetrotters.
Yea, i have been in the lottery 4 years and still NO TICKETS!~
