Rush are my band of the ages. Integrity, musicianship, vision. One of the truly under-rated bands of the 20th/21st centuries.

I'll re-spin a few Andrew ! π
Hell, what do I know? π

Rush has a lot of phenomenal songs, but they didn't manage to record a single studio album without adding a stinker. It's the one band were I'd always recommend a life album (Exit...Stage Left) as a starting point instead of a regular studio album.
Noted CK ! I remember Necromancer as a pretty good track but can't remember the album - which maybe relevant. Geddy's vocals always grated on me after a while. I'll get me coat... π
Necromancer's on Caress Of Steel, which is considered a bit unrefined, and definitely more on the hard rock side than prog. I really like it. Same with its predecessor, Fly By Night, which is even more rooted in hard rock, but for most fans they only got it together with the follow up album, 2112.

Check out their later stuff.
What makes you think I didn't?
Ah, his vocals mellowed over the years. Never thought that he was more 'grating' than Plant, etc.
I'll defo spin some more recent stuff Andrew; 60'/70's underground and blues was so interesting I guess Rush got lost in the maelstrom for me. Also stoned folk/rock entered the fray which sidetracked a few friends and I into John Martyn, Van and Harper which pushed the upcoming prog to one side. π³π
I present you 'Moving Pictures', and others. TBH, has any band produced a perfect album? No.
Floyd - before the acrimonious split of course? π€π
That lies in the ear of the listener. I am rating some albums 10/10, and quite a lot of albums 9/10, but none from Rush. Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures are the most consistently good Rush albums though imho.
Ah, all in the ear of the beholder. I don't think that there's ever been any 10/10 album (or film, book, artwork, etc.). If there was, the universe would end.
