Prometheus. Covenant. Ugh. Don't remind me. Sometimes producers should just tell Ridley "No". I knew Prometheus was going to be terrible when I saw Lindelof of Lost "fame"was writing it. Same MO. All questions and no answers. The Abrams fucking "Oooh mystery box" school of scriptwriting.
Everybody seems to be "Don't worry about people who bleat about canon/lore" but canon is-to me at least-world building and about being consistent within the fiction and therefore important for my engagement. See also Disney Star Wars,Kurtzman Trek,any post II Terminator movies,The Rings Of Power. 🤦♂️
I don’t pay much attention to ‘Trek’, but nevertheless we are singing from the same hymn-sheet !
I just tend to rewatch the original series and II, III, IV and VI these days. The first movie isn't awful, they just didn't quite get the characterisations right. V is just a bit...daft.
