Currently working on a project where devs have raised some red flags over potential hidden costs in the technology and been ignored. We have a requirement to generate PDF copies of certain documents for record retention, sending out via email etc.
Our consultants have suggested a cloud based solution that apparently costs in the region of 15c per document. We estimate that we generate around 150k documents per year. We can't afford $24k a year in new spending just for some PDFs I guess we are sticking with our existing home grown solution.
Seriously though, who pays 15c per document? That's just obscene money. I'm just surprised that our consultants didn't see this as a showstopper before suggesting it!
